Words for items you use in class

Words for "a", "an" & "some"

How to write items in plural

SECCIÓN 1

LAS COSAS EN LA CLASE

Let’s start off our Free Spanish Classroom Vocabulary with “Las Cosas en la Clase” (or “The Things in the Class”).

SECCIÓN 2

How to Say "A", "AN" and "SOME"

Did you notice in the activity above the two ways to say “a/anin Spanish?!

This is because in Spanish, unlike in English, all nouns (or things) are either masculine (male) or feminine (female).

Let’s explore this a little more…

* Tip *

We are talking about NOUNS here.

In Spanish and in English (like in ALL languages), a NOUN is a:

– PERSON

– PLACE

– THING

Free Spanish Masculine & Feminine two cartoon dolls of a girl and boy holding flowers and a white swan in front

How to Do this Activity

1) When the word “A/AN” is masculine, we use “UN

2) When the word “A/AN” is feminine, we use “UNA“.

3) Write “UN” or “UNA” in each of the sentences below.

Look at the table below for a nice, clear display of this.

Record the table as you see it in your MyTeacherDave libreta.

SECCIÓN 3

What Happens to the Plurals?!

There is one more super-important thing that we need to know when talking about things in Spanish.

This is how to turn one thing (a noun) into various things (some nouns).

Let’s check it out…

How it works...

1) When the noun ends in a VOWEL (a, e, i, o, u), add “s“. chico -> chicos.

2) When the noun ends in a CONSONANT (all other letters like “t” or “p” etc.!), add “es“. butón -> butones.

3) If a noun ends with “s“, don’t do anything!

4) If a noun ends with “z“, change the z to “c” and add “es”. lápiz -> lápices.

You can have a 30-minute Zoom class with me completely free.

Firstly, we will meet each other!

You can explain what things about English are difficult or complicated for you. I will show you how I can help you to improve.

Most importantly, we will have a REAL class of grammar, vocabulary, listening, or comprehension – whatever you want!

NO.

Not at all.

All materials are provided free of charge.

The only thing you need is a good internet connection, and a laptop or tablet.

I am a Doctor (PhD) of Linguistics with Spanish and English now, but I actually started Spanish as a hobby 18 years ago with zero idea of the language! I made all the mistakes, worked really hard, became an expert (a Doctor!) and developed the best ways to learn properly and retain what I learned.

As a teacher, I dedicate everything I do to show you how to improve, love the language and know what it’s like to be successful with it.

As one of my past students said:

Dave gives so much time to your improvement and is really invested in your progress”. – Hannah Sharky.

YES.

All of my students report an improvement in their very first class.

This is because all materials and activities are designed to make you get better immediately.

NO

This is a complimentary Spanish class with absolutely no commitment.

I hope you enjoy the class and learn with me.

However, if you don’t want other classes, that is completely OK!
