Junior Cert Spanish Present Tense is for you to become an expert in regular verbs and the everyday uses of this tense.

Junior Cert Spanish Present

This is one of the “core” tenses for Junior Cert. students and is needed for all aspects of the exam from Listening to Writing.

There is actually a lot to consider with the Present Tense in terms of spelling changes etc. but we will take it step-by-step.

You can see three examples in the blue box below of what these verbs express in English.

Part 1 - 4 Step Process

The very first thing to learn is the 4-step process of working with Spanish verbs. 

It doesn’t matter if we are talking about the past, present or future as it is like a “checklist” so you always complete the full process. It’s as easy as 1-2-3-4!

The next quick thing we need to do is identify who we are talking about with these Spanish and English pronouns.

How to Do this Activity

1) In the activity, you get:

– a chart with the 3 categories of Spanish verbs 

– 6 verbs that belong to one of the 3 categories

2) You have to move the verb to the correct category

Part 4 - What I Like to Eat

In this section, you are going to put everything you’ve done into practice. 

The topic is FOOD and you are going to tell us about what you normally eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You will also tell use about some of the nice things you eat when you are in Spain!

So, now you have a nice process of writing your verbs,  some super-important pronouns in English and Spanish and you have also practiced using some 100% regular verbs in sentences.
