WELCOME to MyTeacherDave.com

¡HOLA!

You’re very welcome to the mini version of Spanish Weather from my Full Spanish Hub.

Whether you’re a Leaving Cert., Junior Cert or indeed any student studying this great language, you need to know how to talk about the weather.

Check out the sentence in the BLUE BOX below for examples of what you’ll learn here.

SUMMER         COLD         RAINING

 TEMPERATURES          WINDY          CLOUDY

What we'll do here...

You will learn the essentials to talk about the weather, such as…

TYPES - sunny, raining, windy...

SEASONS - the four of them

TEMPERATURES

SECCIÓN 1

Introduction

There’s a good chance that you already know a bit about Spanish weather vocabulary – but so let’s see what you know so far!

We’ll start here at the absolute basics with a little Quick Quiz.

How to Do this Activity

1) Play each video to see what type of weather it is.

2) Select the correct word from the 6 options

3) Write the full word or expression down

*TIP* – When finished the activity, write the vocabulary in your NOTEBOOK.

SECCIÓN 2

Vamos a practicar un poco...

We are going to practice a little…

Look at each of the photos, read the sentence in Spanish and choose “verdadero” if you think it’s TRUE or “falso” if you think it’s FALSE.

SECCIÓN 3

Las cuatro estaciones

The four seasons…

En el año, hay cuatro estaciones

1) la primavera          2) el verano          3) el otoño          4) el invierno

Las cuatro estaciones...

Even though you have probably never seen these seasons in Spanish before, I think that you will actually do very well here – give it a go!

How to Do this Activity

1) You are given four videos.

2) You are given a statement for each video.

3) Choose the correct season for each video.

*TIP* Write the vocabulary down!

SECCIÓN 4

Las Temperaturas

It’s great that you can now talk a little bit about the weather in Spanish. You know how to say “it’s hot, cold, raining or windy” and “winter” or “spring” etc.

However, we also need to talk about temperatures in Spanish.

For example, “in Dublin, the temperature is 19C with a maximum of 23C”.

So, vámonos – let’s go!

Temperaturas ALTAS y BAJAS

The four seasons…

The first thing to do is to make two very, very general categories.

To do this, answer the two questions below. Write the answers down as this is really useful vocabulary!

How to Do this Activity

1) You are given two pictures

2) You are given a statement for each picture.

3) Choose “VERDADERO” or “FALSO” for each one.

NO

You can have a 1-hour Zoom class with me completely free.

Firstly, we will meet each other!

You can explain what things about English are difficult or complicated for you. I will show you how I can help you to improve.

Most importantly, we will have a REAL class of grammar, vocabulary, listening, or comprehension – whatever you want!

NO.

Not at all.

All materials are provided free of charge.

The only thing you need is a good internet connection, and a laptop or tablet.

I am a Doctor (PhD) of Linguistics with Spanish and English now, but I actually started Spanish as a hobby 18 years ago with zero idea of the language! I made all the mistakes, worked really hard, became an expert (a Doctor!) and developed the best ways to learn properly and retain what I learned.

As a teacher, I dedicate everything I do to show you how to improve, love the language and know what it’s like to be successful with it.

As one of my past students said:

Dave gives so much time to your improvement and is really invested in your progress”. – Hannah Sharky.

YES.

All of my students report an improvement in their very first class.

This is because all materials and activities are designed to make you get better immediately.

NO

This is a complimentary Spanish class with absolutely no commitment.

I hope you enjoy the class and learn with me.

However, if you don’t want other classes, that is completely OK!
