FAR EASIER THAN YOU MAY THINK!

 I WILL  STUDY  =   ESTUDIARÉ

We WILL  WORK  =  TRABAJAREMOS

SECCIÓN 1

REGULAR VERBS

There’s a good chance that you already know a bit about Spanish Future.

We’ll start here at the absolute basics with a little Quick Quiz and explanation of the Regular Verbs.

* Tip *

Only do this activity once for now.

Record your score because we will return to this after we’ve seen the video Spanish Future.

* TIP *   – Can you think of any parts of the Leaving Cert. exam that this might be especially useful?

How to Do this Activity

1) You are given six sentences about Mick’s plans after he finishes the Leaving Cert.

2) However, poor Mick didn’t study his Spanish Future Tense very well!

3) You need to help Mick by putting all the verbs in brackets into the Spanish Future.

For Example…

Future Tense: “(Relajarse) Me relajaré mucho”.

SECCIÓN 2

An Alternative Future

There is actually an alternative way to talk about the future in Spanish.

Again, this is super-similar to English.

This other way, however, is usually used to express more concrete plans or intentions in the immediate or near future (i.e. not in 100 years’ time!).

¡Voy a hacer bicicleta de montaña!

I am going to do mountain biking!

How to Do this Activity

Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb in brackets.

* BIG TIP *   – The BIGGEST TIP I can offer you here is that the Spanish and English structures are super-similar!

If we look at the sentences below the video, we will see what I mean.

The English structure is:

GOING TO + INFINITIVE

I am going to study all weekend”.

NO

You can have a 1-hour Zoom class with me completely free.

Firstly, we will meet each other!

You can explain what things about English are difficult or complicated for you. I will show you how I can help you to improve.

Most importantly, we will have a REAL class of grammar, vocabulary, listening, or comprehension – whatever you want!

NO.

Not at all.

All materials are provided free of charge.

The only thing you need is a good internet connection, and a laptop or tablet.

I am a Doctor (PhD) of Linguistics with Spanish and English now, but I actually started Spanish as a hobby 18 years ago with zero idea of the language! I made all the mistakes, worked really hard, became an expert (a Doctor!) and developed the best ways to learn properly and retain what I learned.

As a teacher, I dedicate everything I do to show you how to improve, love the language and know what it’s like to be successful with it.

As one of my past students said:

Dave gives so much time to your improvement and is really invested in your progress”. – Hannah Sharky.

YES.

All of my students report an improvement in their very first class.

This is because all materials and activities are designed to make you get better immediately.

NO

This is a complimentary Spanish class with absolutely no commitment.

I hope you enjoy the class and learn with me.

However, if you don’t want other classes, that is completely OK!
